For the past month or so, I’ve been hearing raves about this new cafe addition along Maginhawa street, which by the way is famous for its food joints, fashion boutiques and cozy cafes.
True enough, the Nook Cafe is definitely a big thumbs up especially for Harry Potter fans. The place just screams, Potterhead, from the entrance up to the second floor.

For a short background, The Nook Cafe is owned by Ms. Nicole Guanio, a young entrepreneur from University of Santo Tomas. Being a true potterhead, Ms. Nicole was inspired to bring to life a shop where fellow potterheads can hang out and fully enjoy the magic of the book.
The place is teeming with people. Mind you, we got there at around 6 PM but still, there were about four other groups outside waiting for a chance to get inside. (Yes, you have to go to the counter and register your name to get listed)
I didn’t mind the wait, though. My friend and I took to sitting down on the curb and waited for our time. The night was young and the wind was absolutely refreshing. While chatting about the interior of the cafe, someone suddenly interrupted us and introduced himself as one of the owners of the cafe. Surprise, surprise! I was shocked to find out he, too, was almost the same age as us, barely in his late adulthood. Anyway, he was nice enough to entertain us and we found out they were already planning to take the space from across for a bigger space. Either that, or the store beside them. It was a great idea since the Nook is definitely a hit among cafe lovers.
I love that everything is affordable and worth the wait. The cake of the day is not too sweet, repeatedly inviting me in for another bite. The butterbeer, their main drink and best seller, is also too sweet, minty and refreshing. There are other snacks to choose from, but since we hopped there from another cafe, we didn’t try them out anymore.
Here’s a not-so-good shot of the second floor.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t take enough photos since my phone was already running low with battery. But Nook Cafe also offers a chance to wear the Hogwarts uniforms, play with the wands, and read the books Ms. Nicole set up on the second floor for customers.
And while you’re at it, don’t miss the chance to peek at the hidden cupboard under the stairs! Cough, Harry, you poor boy, cough.
The Nook Cafe is located at 164A Maginhawa Street, Sikatuna, Quezon City
